For many years now, CDODC has supported the Blue Cross Animal Shelter and the Victorian Animal Aid Trust in Coldstream with financial and pet food donations. We are proud to offer our ongoing commitment as both these centres receive only minimal government funding and deserve our support.
Well before Christmas each year we start collecting donations from our members and then pass these to the Animal Shelters in time for Christmas when the need for donations is greatest.

CDODC offers reduced fees for puppies undertaking early training in preparation to
become Seeing Eye Dogs or Guide Dogs, assisting persons who are blind or have a
vision impairment gain the freedom and independence to move safely and confidently
around their communities.

During the 2009 Victorian bushfires, we collected dried food, canned food, blankets, pet accessories and cash to assist in the housing of pets displaced by the fires. CDODC members and friends donated 1,500kg of dried food and a large sum of cash which was made available to the shelters during that very difficult time.

We are proud to promote responsible dog ownership in the community. We have dedicated teams who are regularly called upon to do demonstrations of Obedience, Agility and Flyball at a wide variety of community events including fetes and festivals
